Write for us

Bright Sports Insider welcomes considered pitches that help readers see a sport more clearly. We are interested in focused, evergreen explanations, comparisons, histories and viewing ideas that make a particular detail understandable without requiring specialist knowledge.

What makes a strong pitch

Pitch one distinct question about a rule, tactic, format, piece of equipment or tradition. Explain the central idea, what readers will understand by the end and why the subject can stay useful beyond a single result or news cycle. A modest, well-defined subject is often stronger than an attempt to cover an entire sport.

Writing and sourcing

Use plain English, define specialist terms and keep the explanation within its proper scope. Be careful to distinguish official rules from common practice and analysis. If a claim depends on a current competition rule, a specific location or specialist verification, flag that in the pitch rather than presenting it as universal.

Send a proposal

Proposals are sent through the Contact page. Choose the editorial question option and include a working title, a short outline, the intended reader and any relevant sources or potential conflicts of interest. Please send a proposal rather than an unsolicited full article.
