Editorial policy

Bright Sports Insider aims to make sport easier to understand without making it sound simpler than it is. We value accurate explanations, clear distinctions between fact and interpretation, and openness about how material appears on the site.

Accuracy and context

We take care with sporting terms, rules and histories, and explain the context readers need to follow a subject. Rules can change and may differ between competitions, so we identify the relevant scope when it matters and do not present a local convention as universal. If an explanation cannot be made responsibly without checking a current rulebook or other authoritative source, we will not imply that a general article settles the matter.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for reader interest and clarity. A commercial relationship does not buy an editorial conclusion, favourable coverage or a promise of publication. We aim to make the distinction between editorial material and commercial material easy to recognise.

Corrections

If you spot a possible error, send the page title, the detail in question and any useful context through the Contact page. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers where appropriate.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, supplied or otherwise partner-supported material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where that is the case, we identify them as such and do not present them as documentary photographs.
